At Champions Uncovered, we believe every person is a Champion waiting to be Uncovered, they just need someone to believe in them,an accountability partner, commitment, actions and a vision. When you have the right support, resources and tools it makes anything is possible.
Education is close to our hearts at Champions Uncovered and is a step in the right direction. When you are educated, you are informed and can make better decisions which makes for better results.
The most inspiring leader that ever lived, Nelson Mandela once said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” and we could not agree more … we may not be able to change the world but as a Company we can certainly can impact our community and invest in the lives of others.
We chose to start with Boschkop Primary School, located in Pretoria East.
Why did we choose this School?
This school has about 800 pupils from Grade 1 – 7. The average salary a child’s parent earns is between R300 – R1000 per month. The startling reality about this school is as the children get older, there are less of them in the higher grades – with only a handful of Grade 7’s. Many of the children only go to school to get a meal for the day.
Each child’s needs are basic but necessary with items needed like jerseys, shoes, vegetable garden and tree planting and repairing the classrooms, and more. Therefore, Champions Uncovered hosted a Winter Drive campaign at The Barnyard Parkview with the show called “Born to Be Wild! “ and will continue to have projects to make a difference.
The Barnyard fundraiser was a huge success and we were able to raise funds to purchase blankets, gloves and beanies for the school children.
